Breast cancer the bitch

October is breast cancer awareness month.  Jo of Frankie and Ray has made this beautiful scarf and is auctioning it - the proceeds are going to the Cancer Council.  All you have to do is pop over to Frankie and Ray and leave your bid in the comments section.  I'm kinda hoping to add this one to my F&R scarf collection, but supporting the cause is more important than my scarf-needs.

You only have until November 4 - so get cracking!

To market to market...

Yup - it's the weekend and I'm packing up my wares to head to Mulgrave very bright and very early in the morning.  Actually, the early start means I get choice pick at the farmers market this makers markets runs alongside - so there is an up-side!

Last night I went along to the opening night of an exhibition at Red Gallery by talented artist Fleur Summers.  I can't help but admire her artistry and attention to detail.  That girl has great fine motor skills!

Still reeling...

Whoa!  I'm still reeling from the weekend.  Two markets, a bit of weather (not fond of the wind, me) and lots of lovely customers taking home Squirt Baby goodies.  I am a happy, if slightly wind-blown, camper.

Our internet connection has been a bit dodgy of late.  Kinda makes it hard to stay connected, you know!  I'm pleased that this morning I've had an uninterrupted run which means I've been able to restock the Squirt Baby shop.  So yes - I'm open for business again!

So if you'd like some of these -

or these -

or even these -

Then pop here.

Oh, and you might even find a couple of sale items listed.  And when I've recharged the camera battery and the internet is cooperating, there'll be even more.

Double header this weekend

Do I need to explain how crazy our family life is at the moment?  The MOTH and I are trying to exist on about 5 hours sleep a night, and it's not working well for us.  We're just trying to be good parents and in the process we're probably turning out less than satisfactory!  Next week things will quieten down a little and I'll actually have an opportunity to reopen the Squirt Baby shop.  Yay!

This weekend sees my wares and I getting around a bit.  On Saturday I'll be hanging out at the Penleigh and Essendon Grammar Craft Market (details below).  As a Lowther girl, I'm entering enemy territory - but I do have a hard time turning down an invitation!  It's being held at the Raleigh Street Campus with plenty of parking in the grounds of Essendon Primary (I'm a graduate of that one too!).  And I've just discovered from the poster below it finishes at 3, so I get to knock off an hour earlier than expected.  Totally Innocent and I will be market buddies for the third time in two weeks.  Luckily she's a great chick who also happens to be hugely talented.

I'm excited to be returning to Shirt and Skirt for the first time since May.  It's such a lovely spot, filled with lovely people and great coffee.  So on Sunday I'll be here -

Abbotsford Convent
St Heliers Street

I'll be just across the way from my previous usual spot, and closer to the coffee (so no complaints from me!).

Kids Clothes Week Challenge

Inspired by Natasha, I'm going to join in this challenge with Elsie Marley - Kids Clothes Week.  I know this might be an odd one for me to join, since I make childrens' clothes as a  hobby small business.  But my kiddos don't always benefit from my productivity.  So this week I'm making a concerted effort to make some things for them too.  I'm starting the challenge by announcing I'm taking part.  Let's just hope I manage to pull it off!  My goal - one item per day for at least one of my kids.  Mate may miss out, but the girls are sure to benefit!  Stay tuned.

To market to market...

I've been quiet on the blogging front, because I've been busy on the creating and marketeering fronts.
On Saturday I'll be at the delightful Yarraville Markets

I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment and new garments are rolling out of my sewing room daily (or nightly, to be precise!).   On Monday I had a long day at the Royal Melbourne show with Totally Innocent and A Piece of Cloth.  They'll both be at Yarraville on Saturday too - plus lots of other lovely gorgeous makers.
