Where my brain is at

Really, not entirely sure where the brain is.  It used to hold pride of place, but instead is gathering dust somewhere.  I blame the 1000m bargain buy of shirring elastic.  You can see it down there in all its instagram glory.

I'm frantically whipping up light summer dresses for the Sister's Market this weekend which involve a bit of shirring.  I've lost count of the number of times I've filled the bobbin by hand.  This repetition led me to give two blog posts the same name.  Only two weeks apart (no wonder it seemed familiar as I typed it in).

Perhaps it's time for a cup of tea and a little lie down?

The (Christmas) Final Countdown

The end of the year is rapidly approaching.  My Christmas market dates are locked in.

I'll be at the Sister's Markets in Brunswick and Northcote.

I'll be at Yarraville Markets on Saturday 15th December.

And finally, I have two dates at the Shirt and Skirt Market.

Sunday 9th and Sunday 16th December.

St Heliers St

Alright, time to get back to my sewing!

One of my pals is taking part in this group show.  Unfortunately I can't make it to the opening night (have I ever told you about Thursdays in this household?) - but I'll be popping in at some point.

To market, to market

On Sunday I'll be at the Shirt & Skirt Market.

The year is going by so quickly, and now we're on the countdown to Christmas.

I'll be setting up shop with my buddy Jo of Frankie and Ray.

More brand new gear as it rolls off my sewing machine making its debut on Sunday.

The final countdown

Today my baby girl started school transition.  She happily went off into the classroom, and started work straight away.  She hasn't told me much about her two hours, that will come later on.  We'll be curled up on the couch after dinner when the stories come tumbling out.

Luce is my baby.  When she starts school next year it will be the first time in twelve years I haven't had a little companion at home.  No children, no pets.  She's started transition, and so have I.  I only hope I handle it as well as this five year old has.

This week...

Still reeling from the amazing success of The Bay and Beyond Market, I'm refocussing for this week's markets.

Friday night I'm off to Alphington Primary for their Christmas Makers Market.  It runs from 6-9 pm, entry by gold coin donation.  Yarralea Street Alphington.

Then on Saturday I'll be at the Yarraville Markets.

I've been sewing up a storm - new shorts for boys & cool summer dresses for the girls.  Okay, better get back to it!
